FOR THE  IMPROVEMENT OF NATIONAL ROUTE R63 SECTIONS 15 AND 16 FROM BHISHO (km 5.8) TO THE N6 BRIDGE INTERSECTION (km 1.0)

T1.1     TENDER NOTICE AND INVITATION TO TENDER (SBD1)

WBHO CONSTRUCTION (Pty) Ltd invites tenders from experienced subcontractors for Contract SANRAL R.063-156-2014/1 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF NATIONAL ROUTE R63 SECTIONS 15 AND 16 FROM BHISHO (km 5.8) TO THE N6 BRIDGE INTERSECTION (km 1.0) endorsed by The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL). This project is in the province of EASTERN CAPE and in both the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and Amahlathi Municipality. 

Subcontractors are required for the following subcontract:

SUBCONTRACT NO. R.063-156-2014/1_BWM01 FOR RELOCATION OF BULK WATER MAIN PIPELINE

The Works include the relocation of a portion of Amatola District Municipality watermain located along the road within the current R63 Section 15 road reserve to allow for the construction of the widening of the R63 Section 15 road from km18.48 to km 26.62. The pipeline is to be relocated to approximately 3.5m off the proposed/final road reserve boundary on the right-hand side.

The work includes:

  1. Relocation of the existing 315mm diameter bulk water pipeline to allow for current road construction to proceed along the R63 between km18 480 and km 26 620 (total length of 8140m), which includes a 50m temporary deviation of steel watermain pipe over the Kei Road Rail Bridge. 
  2. Permanently relocate the 50m section of existing water pipeline from its temporary position on the bridge to its new position on the widened bridge.

Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data.

The approximate duration is 07 months, subject to performance and evaluation.

It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7CE. However, tenderers attention is drawn to clause C.2.1.1 of the Tender Data when submitting their tender.

Tenders from tenderers registered with CIDB for grading designation higher than a contractor grading designation determined in accordance with the sum tendered, or a value determined in accordance with Regulation 25(7A) of the Construction Industry Development Regulations, will not be accepted.

Only tenderers that meet all the eligibility criteria under clause C.2.1.1 of the Tender Data (T1.2) will be considered.

The tenderers attention is drawn to clause C.3.11 of the Tender Data (T1.2) when submitting their tender.

Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data.

SUBCONTRACT TENDER DOCUMENTS

Tender documents are available at no cost to the tenderer for collection by the tenderer in electronic format on a USB device. Tenderers must have access to Microsoft Office © 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0, or similar compatible software. The physical address for collection of this electronic format of the tender documents is the MARISWE (Pty) Ltd offices at Clevedon House, 02 Clevedon Road, Selborne, East London, 5200.  This electronic format of the document may be collected during the hours 09h00 to 16h00 (Monday to Friday), from 28 October 2024.

TENDERERS’ BRIEFING AND TRAINING

A compulsory tender clarification briefing with representatives of the Contractor and Engineer will take place at (Old Sports Club) 16 B Mills Street, Kei Road 4920 on the 05 November 2024 at 10:00. Tenders from tenderers who arrived late at the clarification briefing session will not be allowed, and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive.

A tenderer’s representative cannot represent more than one tenderer at the clarification briefing session.

COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14:00 on Friday, the 22 November 2024.

Only tender offers submitted in hard copy and delivered to the address specified in the Tender Data will be accepted.
