Makali Plant & Construction (PTY) Ltd invites tenders from experienced EME/QSE Subcontractors/Suppliers for CONTRACT SANRAL X.003-022-2018/1-C6 THE EMERGENCY BRIDGE REPAIR WORKS (REPAIR OF BRIDGES ALONG THE N2 SECTION 16) endorsed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL). This project is in the province of the Eastern Cape in the Buffalo City Metropolitan and the Great Kei Municipal areas.

Only tenderers who are registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database at the closing date for tender submissions and who comply with the definition of a Targeted Enterprise under clause C.2.1.1 and are at least Black Owned by the designated groups as per above table per package and who is an EME or QSE or cooperative, are eligible to tender.

Only tenderers that meet all the eligibility criteria under clause C.2.1.1 of the Tender Data will be considered.

Only tenderers who meet the minimum functionality score as stated in clause C.3.11 will be evaluated further on price and preference.

Only locally produced or locally manufactured products and components for construction will be considered.

Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data.

SUBCONTRACT TENDER DOCUMENTS

Tenderers must bring their own empty USB with a minimum 8GB capacity for the tender documents to be loaded onto or alternatively a request may be sent via email to subcontractC6@makali.co.za requesting the documents to be received via email, the Subcontract tender number must form part of the email subject line. Each individual tender must be requested separately by the tenderers.

Tenderers must have access to Microsoft Office © 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0, or similar compatible software.

The address for collection of tender documents is 20 Bert Kipling Street, Wilsonia, East London, 5247, where documents may be downloaded during the hours 09h00 to 16h00 during weekdays (Monday to Friday), from Thursday 7 November 2024.

Prospective tenderers who cannot access the information on the USB device must pre-book for access to a computer workstation on site on a specific day and time. TENDERERS’ BRIEFING AND TRAINING

TENDERS’ BRIEFING

A compulsory tender clarification briefing and training session(s) with representatives of the Contractor and Engineer will take place at Cambridge Bowling Club, Olympic Avenue, Chiselhurst, East London. Prospective tenderers must pre-book for the clarification briefing session by 12 November 2024 due to venue size limitations. At the scheduled dates and times as in table above.

A request for a clarification briefing session must be sent to the following address subcontractC6@makali.co.za.

Tenders from tenderers who arrived late at the clarification briefing session will not be allowed entry, and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive. Scheduled dates and times as in table above.

TENDERS’ TRAINING

A request for a non-compulsory training session must be sent to the following address subcontractC6@makali.co.za by no later than 15 November 2024 after which a date and time will be provided for the training session.

DOORS WILL BE CLOSED AT DATE & TIME SHOWN IN TABLE ABOVE. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO.

A tenderer’s representative cannot represent more than one tenderer at the clarification briefing session.

CLOSING TIME, COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 11:00 AM on Friday, 29 November 2024

Only tender offers submitted in hardcopy together with PDF copies of signed documents on a USB and delivered in a sealed envelope to the address specified in the Tender Data will be accepted.

Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.

Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data.
