VEA Road Maintenance & Civils invites tenders from experienced EME/QSE subcontractors for Contract SANRAL N.002-213- 2019/1 Routine Road Maintenance of National Route N2 SECTION 21X KM 0.00 TO N2 SECTION 22X KM 29.60 AND N2 SECTION 22 KM 0.00 TO N2 SECTION 23 KM 44.78, IN THE HARRY GWALA AND UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES (on behalf of VEA Road Maintenance & Civils in accordance with the requirements of The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL).

This project is in the province of KwaZulu – Natal and in the HARRY GWALA AND UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES. Preference will be given to tenders within the local municipality for the 1 & 2 CE packages.

Subcontractors are required for the following packages:

Tender who satisfies the following criteria are eligible to submit tenders:

1. At least 50% Black Owned

2. Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) or Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSE)

3. Registered with the South African Revenue Service

4. Registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)

5. Registered as “active” with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) for a CE class of construction work

6. Compliant with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases ACT (COIDA) 7. B-BBEE Level 1-4

Tender documents are available at no cost in electronic format on CD. Tenderers must have access to Microsoft Office © 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0, or similar compatible software.

The physical address for collection of tender documents is the VEA Road Maintenance & Civils, 27 Princess Elizabeth Street, Port Shepstone where tender documents may be collected from 28 October to 17 November 2022 during the hours 09:00 to 16:00 (Monday to Friday). Tenderers are to schedule an appointment for the collection of documents by contacting shawn.m@vearoad1.co.za

Tenderers must submit, via email shawn.m@vearoad1.co.za the duly completed Form A1.1 Certificate of Intention to Submit a Tender within seven (7) days from the tender advertisement date. Failure to submit this certificate would result in the tenderer not receiving addenda or additional issued information and may result in the tenderer being non-responsive.

Please be advised that the route will not be travelled and that it will be the responsibility of each tenderer to acquaint themselves with the route and its condition.

CLOSING TIME, COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS: Closing time for receipt of tenders is 11:00 on 11 December 2022 at 27 Princess Elizabeth Street, Port Shepstone.

A compulsory tender clarification briefing with representatives of the Project Management Team will take place on:

16 November 2022 at Uvongo Town Hall Lot 666, Crescent Street , Uvongo P.O. Box , 5 Port Shepstone, 4240 for CE1 - CE2;

AND on the

17 November 2022 at Mayeshe Community Hall, Ward 22 , Murchison ,PO Box 5 , Port Shepstone ,4240 for CE 3 – CE 4.An invitation will be sent to tenders who return Form A1.1.
