SUB-CONTRACT FOR COMMERCIAL MATERIALS LABORATORY SERVICES FOR THE BORROW PIT MATERIAL INVESTIGATION UNDER CONTRACT SANRAL R.380-020-2024/2F: CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE UPGRADE FROM GRAVEL TO SURFACED ON NATIONAL ROUTE R380 SECTION 2 FROM SANTOY (km 8.40) TO McCARTHY’S REST (km 118.46)

ON BEHALF OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY SOC LIMITED (SANRAL),  ROYAL MNDAWE HOLDINGS (PTY) LTD (T/A ROMH CONSULTING) AS THE EMPLOYER,

REQUESTS QUOTATIONS FROM SUITABLY EXPERIENCED SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR BORROW PIT MATERIAL INVESTIGATION ON NATIONAL ROUTE 380 SECTION 2 FROM SANTOY (KM 8.40) TO MCCARTHY’S REST (KM 118.46)

Quotations are invited from suitably experienced service providers with the necessary equipment, personnel, technical competence and reporting capability to undertake the required borrow pit investigation, material testing, classification and reporting associated with Contract SANRAL R.380-020-2024/2F-2C-BP

The borrow-pit investigation sites are located along the R31 between Askham and Van Zylsrus and are being investigated as potential material sources for the R380 Section 2 project. The investigation locations are therefore not situated along the R380 project route itself.

The RFQ documents will be available from Friday, 18 September 2026 and shall be requested directly from ROMH Consulting by e-mail at:

gerritvdw@romh.co.za and timonvb@romh.co.za

Attached please find a schedule of rates that needs to be completed.

The RFQ package will be issued electronically and will include:

• ANNEXURE A – LOCALITY PLAN
• ANNEXURE B – BORROW PIT AND TEST PIT LOCATIONS
• ANNEXURE C – PRICING SCHEDULE

Quotations must be headed “CONTRACT SANRAL R.380-020-2024/2F-2C-BP: REQUEST FOR QUOTATION FOR BORROW PIT MATERIAL INVESTIGATION ” and the name of the firm submitting the quote must be added.

The quotations and supporting documents should be e-mailed in PDF format, with the completed Pricing Schedule submitted in both PDF and Excel format, to: timonvb@romh.co.za and gerritvdw@romh.co.za.

The RFQ will be issued on: Friday, 18 September 2026.

Technical clarification questions must be submitted by no later than 12h00 on Friday, 25 September 2026.

Any clarification or addendum, if required, will be issued by Tuesday, 29 September 2026.

Quotation must be e-mailed by latest 12h00 (noon/midday) on Friday, 9 October 2026.

Late submissions will not be accepted.

The validity period of the quotation shall be 180 days from the closing date.
