SCHIETKUIL (KM 45.08) AND FLAAUWE KOP (KM 36.78), AND NATIONAL ROUTE R389 SECTION
2 FROM HANOVER (KM 0.00) TO EMTHANJENI/RENOSTERBERG BORDER (KM 43.55)

                                                         TENDER NOTICE
                                 CLOSING DATE: Monday 6th November 2023
Damians Contractors Civil invites experienced EME and QSE Targeted Enterprises to a tender briefing
session for Contract SANRAL N.001-091-2023/1 for the Routine Road Maintenance of National Route N1 Section 9 to 11 between Schietkuil (km 45.08) and Flaauwe Kop (km 36.78), and National Route R389Section 2 from Hanover (km 0.00) to Emthanjeni/Renosterberg border (km 43.55). The project is in the Ubuntu and Emthanjeni Local Municipalities within the Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality in the
Northern Cape Province.

Preferences are offered to prospective tenderers from the targeted area, namely the Ubuntu and
Emthanjeni Local Municipalities, as well as the CIDB grades and classes indicated for each sub-contract
package. This tender will be evaluated in terms of functionality as a criterion and the price and preference
points system. Tenderers who satisfy the following criteria are eligible to submit tenders:

a) B-BBEE Level 1 or 2 contributor.
b) Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) or Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE).
c) Registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD).
d) Registered as “active” with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in the relevant
contractor grade and class designation.
An award will only be made to preferred Tenderers that are:
e) Compliant with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COID); and
f) Tax Compliant.

Note to Tenderers:
a) Damians Contractors Civil will reserve the right to negotiate feasible rates with the preferred tenderers
if necessary.
b) Tenderers may submit tenders for all sub-contracts in this Tender Notice, but only 1 (one) subcontract
will be let per preferred Tenderer at any one time for this project.

TENDER BRIEFING
Compulsory information briefing meetings and a training session will take place at Richmond Town
Hall, Loop Street, Richmond, 7090. On Monday 23rd October 2023. For CIDB 1 to 2 CE at 10h00am and
for CIDB 3 to 4CE at 12h00pm. where prospective Tenderers shall meet the Contractor.

Tenderers must be represented at the information compulsory briefing meeting by a representative
who must be the Tenderer himself or an authorised person in the direct employment of the
Tenderer.

SUBCONTRACT TENDER DOCUMENTS
At no cost in electronic format via e-mail to those who attended the tender briefing or downloadable from
the SANRAL website on the Electronic Supply Development Desk portal https://sanralesdd.co.za on Friday
22nd September 2023. The file will contain an electronic copy of the tender document in WORD format and
Bill of Quantities in EXCEL format. Volume 3 will be a bound signed paper copy containing the following
documents, returnable schedules relevant to the project and Pricing Data.

Electronic submission (USB) the 1st file in pdf format which contains a scanned copy of Form of Offer
(pdf), scanned copies of all returnable schedules and attachments (pdf), scanned copy of Pricing
Schedule (pdf). The 2nd file in Excel format which contains Completed pricing schedule

Late arrivals to the compulsory information briefing meeting will not be allowed access, and
therefore will not be allowed to submit a tender. Such tenders received, shall be deemed nonresponsive.

CLOSING TIME, COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS
The tender and supporting documents shall be sealed in an envelope and clearly marked:

“SUB- CONTRACT N.001-091-2023/1 for the Routine Road Maintenance of National Route N1 Section 9
to 11 between Schietkuil (km 45.08) and Flaauwe Kop (km 36.78), and National Route R389 Section 2
from Hanover (km 0.00) to Emthanjeni/Renosterberg border (km 43.55)".

And shall be hand delivered by hand to 168 Brink Street, Richmond, 7090 between the hours 09:00 to
16:00, Monday to Friday up until the closing date. Monday 6th November 2023 at 10:00am
