EFG Engineers (Pty) Ltd invites tenders on behalf of the Applicant, the South African National Roads
Agency SOC limited, for the Subservice of managing the environmental process and monitoring
environmental compliance during construction for the Capacity Improvement of National Route 1 Section 3
from Worcester East (km 3.50) to Glen Heatlie (km 14.00) This project is in the province of Western Province
and in the district municipality of Breede Valley Local Municipality / Cape Winelands district municipality.
The approximate programme for design is to be completed by November 2023.
Preferences are offered to tenderers who comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data.
The Applicant is committed to transformation, employment equity and staff advancement, and to
supporting black economic empowerment.


Only tenders with a B-BBEE contributor status level of 1 or 2, are eligible to tender.
Joint Ventures (JV) will be allowed on condition that 1 (one) JV partner is a Targeted Enterprise.
Only tenderers whose Key Person/s have at least eight (8) years of practical post graduate experience
as an environmental assessment practitioner are eligible to submit tenders.
It will be an advantage for the tenderer to be registered with the Environmental Division of the South
African Council of Natural Science Professions (SACNASP) and/ or any other recognized environmental
professional body.

TENDER DOCUMENTS
Tender documents are available at no cost in electronic format from the SANRAL website using
the following link https://www.nra.co.za/service-provider-zone/tenders/open-tenders/. Tenderers
must have access to Microsoft © Office 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0 or similar compatible
software.
Tenderers must submit, via email, the duly completed Form A1.1 Certificate of Intention to Submit
a Tender within seven (7) days from the tender advertisement date Friday, 8 April 2022. Failure to
submit this certificate would result in the tenderer not receiving addenda or additional issued
information and may result in the tenderer being non-responsive.

A non-compulsory tenderers’ clarification meeting will be held at online on Tuesday, 19 April

COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF TENDERS
The closing time for receipt of tenders is 11:00 on Friday, 20 May 2022.
Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, e-mail, facsimile and late tenders will not be
accepted. Tenders may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Tender Data.
