CONTRACT SANRAL R062-060-2021/2F-RSA INDEPENDENT ROAD SAFETY AUDIT SERVICES FOR THE SPECIAL MAINTENANCE ON NATIONAL ROUTE R62 SECTION 6 BETWEEN LOUTERWATER (km 58.60) AND JOUBERTINA (km 79.00)

T 1.1 INVITATION FOR QUOTATION TO UNDERTAKE AN INDEPENDENT ROAD SAFETY AUDIT CLOSING DATE (AT 11:00): 07 June 2024

ERO ENGINEERS (PTY) LTD were appointed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) for the CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE SPECIAL MAINTENANCE ON NATIONAL ROUTE R62 SECTION 6 BETWEEN LOUTERWATER (km 58.60) AND JOUBERTINA (km 79.00). This project is in the province of the Eastern Cape and in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality and Kou-Kamma Local Municipality.

This section of existing road generally resembles a surfaced Class 4 category road cross-section with two 3.2 m surfaced lanes and gravel shoulders which vary in width. There are no climbing or acceleration lanes on this section of road. The majority of the access and intersecting roads are gravel with a few surfaced intersections predominantly with District Roads or entrance roads to the towns. No turning lanes are provided along this section of road. The project entails the widening of the cross-section to a Class 3 cross-section, addition of two climbing lanes, turning lanes at the two entrances to Joubertina, minor horizontal and vertical alignment changes, extending certain culverts to accommodate new cross-section, repair of the Wabooms River Bridge, construction of new inlet and outlet structures at culverts where existing is non-standard or damaged and replacement of existing pipe culverts where required. Ancillary works and other maintenance works such as edge break repairs, guardrails, gabions, lined drains, fencing, road signs, road marking, upgrade of rest area and edge beams will also be implemented.

Only Consulting Engineering Firms who are registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database as stated in the Tender Data, are eligible to submit quotations.

Firms with road safety and traffic engineering experience are therefore invited to submit a quote to undertake an independent Road Safety Audit. A clarification meeting will not be held, but it is essential that prospective tenderers familiarise themselves with the site.

Tenderers must have access to Microsoft © Office 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0 or similar compatible software.

Tenderers must submit, via email, the duly completed Form A1.1: Certificate of Intention to Submit a Tender within seven (7) days from the tender advertisement date 17 May 2024. Failure to submit this certificate would result in the tenderer not receiving addenda or additional issued information and may result in the tenderer being non-responsive.

COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF QUOTATIONS

The closing time and date for submission of quotations is 11h00 on 07 June 2024.

Only quotation offers delivered to the address specified in the Tender Data will be accepted.

Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, e-mail, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted.

Quotations may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Quotation Data.
